Binx The Betta Explores The Line
Posted in Uncategorized on 11/17/2011 by hannahfox27After the whole ordeal of getting Binx into his traveling bowl i was finally able to take him outside. It was a bit cold outside and it looked like it was going to rain. As I was walking to the first spot on the line where i wanted to take pictures i realized that i had to walk fairly slow or his water would spill out. I set the glass down and took the first picture. It did not come out well. i didn’t realize there were air bubbles all over the inside of the glass making it hard to see Binx. i tried tipping the glass from side to side to get rid of the bubbles but that didn’t work. I had to stick my finger in the water and swirl it around to get rid of them. my fish wasn’t happy with that. Binx and i spent about two hours outside that day. I placed him in different areas all over the line. Toward the last few spot where i took pictures Binx stopped moving as much, and he started to just sit at the bottom of the bowl more than swim around. i stuck my finger in his water, it felt ice cold. So i finished up the last of the pictures i wanted as fast as i could and hurried back to my room where i could warm up his water and get him back to room temperature.
Binx The Betta
Posted in Uncategorized on 11/17/2011 by hannahfox27I wanted to take Binx out with me while i walked the line. My idea was that Binx would be in every picture i took while walking the line and he would be the repeating object in the images. This sounds simple enough but when it came time to take him out side i realized that i did not have a net to take him out of his big tank and put him into a smaller glass bowl. At first i tried to use my hands to scoop him out, but he was too quick for me to grab. I searcher around my room for something that could help me, found a flexible plastic lid in the trash, I folded it in half. it took a couple attempts but i was finally able to scoop him up and plop into the smaller bowl.
REPETITION
Posted in Uncategorized on 11/17/2011 by hannahfox27How do i show repetition on an invisible line that cuts through both the Alfred University campus and the Alfred State campus? Well i came up with a few ideas about using leaves, rocks and other object that are naturally on the line, i sketched it out a little to get some sort of visual.
For some reason those ideas did not sound like much fun. what is so exciting about a leaf or a rock for that matter. sure leaves are colorful, but so is my fish… I started to think what if i put my fish on the line. That’s kind of fun, and hes colorful, so now Binx my blue and red betta fish will get to explore the line with me.
My Repetition Museum
Posted in Uncategorized on 11/17/2011 by hannahfox27In class we were asked to make a mini museum of our word. I picked up what i had gathered and printed out some pictures i had taken and pinned them up to the wall in a nice way that display and represent repetition.
